- Could already tell when walking into the gallery that this will be a lot more relevant to my own art

- feels very youthful / playful with the childlike images but the scrawled on font adds a sense of violence or feels as if this kind of youthful peace is being infringed upon

- looking up close the texture feels a lot more raw and the brushstrokes are really thick and gestural which helps build up layers more.

- also enjoy the "unfinished" aspects of certain pieces - once again feels innocent / sketchy / childish

WAYS TO INCORPORATE THIS INTO MY OWN WORK:

- Using collage / printed images - this will be a key part of my next exploration as it is one of the strongest aspects of Shah's work and really helps to carry across a sense of chaos and playfulness. Shah uses western cartoons / childhood illustrations to reference a message. I plan to use my own chosen imagery in a similar way

- will also look at layering - gems / bows ribbons (but will also look at layering paint or oil pastels in a similar way to Shah's pieces)
