Problems that arose / problem solving

Problem solving:

Changing certain elements after initial paintings - e.g: reworking certain colours (sticky back) to ensure that entire piece would be more colour coordinated (looking at reds, browns, pinks and bright greenish yellow)
Also added more elements half way through to make it feel as though it would really be a full domestic space - added in an extra plate and bought more small bric - a - brac as felt that floor or table space could be a little sparse
Working out the text - (ended up settling with lowercase in a more legible font but used red paint - felt that this could in itself carry a sense of violence / dominance / power and holding no prisoners)
Trying to keep the western imagery:
How did I solve this - combined western ideas with ideas of cross dressing / drag / glamour and researched quite a few pictures of older American drag and dramatic cowgirl costumes from the 60s - this would help make the images more related to my original thesis for the FMP (femininity as something powerful / not to be ashamed of) - also tried to feminine powerful images -(e.g: eagles, rough mid-30s looking men, figures on horseback, cowboys) with hearts, bows, flowers etc. and still included images like axes / sheriff’s badges / creepy smiles in order to carry a sense of danger and horror/violence
So yes - a key struggle was finding ways to piece all of these images and messages together - but I feel that I did find a natural space with the outcomes and the imagery didn’t feel super forced
