Article on influence of circus on art

EXTRA COMMS RESEARCH - history of circus and its’ impact on art+design:

Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Walter Sickert all did sketches of circus and its focus on excitement / drama / spectacle - need to focus on creating these things in my work (e.g: bright colour and simplistic shape with antique circus font)
Circus influenced illustrators like Sir Peter Blake (clearly seen in his blocky bright/almost pop art colour) - Peter Blake could definitely be used as an inspiration (although perhaps not as geometric in my use of shape as him)
Article also mentions festoon lights as a tie to the visual language of a circus - will include these on the side of my outcome to further increase how I can communicate the idea
