Sculpture reflections

Sculpture reflections:

enjoyed working with found objects - always assumed sculpture would be based more on clay / carving etc etc
Although would have been nice to work on some finer details. We couldn’t really delve deeply into a meaning behind our work or perfect colour / texture etc but this is likely more so due to time constraints than the nature of the sculpture specialism in the long term. For this reason it also wasn’t possible to really respons to the artist whose sculpture I chose at the Tate (at least in materials) as I had looked at a larger clay sculpture.
However, there were other artists who I had looked at less that proved to be a lot more useful. For example, Haegue Yang worked with found objects, but made their pieces in such a way that they appear to be completely intentional and made from scratch (I could study this more if I choose to specialise in sculpture)
Thoughts on sculpture as a specialism - I definitely enjoy sculpture and it is really nice to work straight away with 3d which feels quite liberating. However, I still feel that my strengths lie more in other areas (e.g: painting or graphic design)
