Reflections

Ball task reflections:

What went well - I enjoyed thinking of different ideas and getting used to displaying my work in a sort of exhibition setting on the final day. It was also really cool to get to view lots of people’s pieces as it helped give me inspiration for future works - e.g: making it interactive would help to tie into the communications project as a whole as it is about interacting with an audience. I also think it helped to introduce me to newer and more open ways of thinking.
What I could have done better - After seeing lots of other people’s works I think I was too limited on what I was trying to make (doing a smaller sculpture on my own). I definitely could have done a bigger group work looking at installations which would have been more visually enticing and I could have used it to explore typography / sound / video etc.
What would I have done differently if I have more time - in hindsight, I would have made a larger installation, maybe on the phrase “having a ball”. It could have been more interactive and eyecatching inviting the viewer to join in on a party. Alternatively, I could have made one larger and more complex shape out of footballs.
